Occasionally I have a "teen" or adult who is in need of a warm, loving, forever home.  This may be a young adult who does not fit into my breeding program, a retired adult, a rescue I have taken in or occasionally I have an older puppy that I have kept for show/breeding and he/she didn't turn out like I was hoping.  These are all healthy dachshunds and need the right home to love them.  They are available for an adoption fee.  It is important that I find the right home for each individual doxie so please be honest in sharing information about your family.  Also, an older doxie is going to take a bit of adjustment but generally does very well.  I insist they come back to us if it does not work out.
This wonderful dog may be available sometime in the Fall. I am searching for the perfect home for Boomer who is a 32lb smooth standard AKC Champion male.  He is 4 years old.   The only reason I am thinking of parting with him is because I have held onto a male puppy from a recent litter and only have room for one intact male at a time.  If this puppy turns out to be a show puppy, I would like to place Boomer with a family for him to be their companion. I do have a few requirements but if the right home comes along, I will charge only a minimal adoption fee.  Boomer is crate trained, leash trained, house trained on a routine, and travels well.  He is active and would make a great walking/jogging partner.   He loves to play "ball" too.  Large dogs make him nervous but he does well with a non-dominant spayed/neutered small to medium size dog.   The following are requirements that I have:
He needs to remain intact for a period of time so that I can still use him if needed as part of my breeding program.  During this time I will retain his AKC papers.
I will require that he be raw fed as he has been for his entire life.  I will also ask that he is not vaccinated for anything other than rabies.  I will guide you in raw feeding and give info as to my reasons for asking for no vaccinations.
